The Museum of Natural Sciences in Angers is a labeled establishment. It occupies two major sites: the Demarie-Valentin mansion and the former comtal palace in the city center, as well as the Gaston-Allard arboretum. The museum displays zoology and botany collections, testifying to the diversity of the living world and the natural history of the region. Its collections cover the history of life, local prehistory and notably include herbals from the 19th and 20th centuries. The Museum presents itself as a place of openness to the environment and ecology, bringing together varied zoological groups including mammals, birds, insects and fish.
