The David d'Angers Gallery is a museum dedicated to the work of sculptor Pierre-Jean David, known as David d'Angers (1788-1856), a major artist of the 19th century. Located in the 13th-century Toussaint Abbey church, restored in 1984 with the addition of a contemporary glass roof, it presents a complete overview of the Angevin sculptor's creation through drawings, medallions, statuettes, and sculptures in plaster, marble, and bronze. The collections come largely from studio plasters offered by the artist to his native city from 1839 onward, enriched after his death by donations from his heirs. The vast nave of the former abbey allows for the exhibition of monumental works and public commissions that established David d'Angers' fame. This institution located in Angers in Maine-et-Loire is part of the network of Angers museums.
