Abbaye et Altenmünster de Lorsch

Located in the Rhine region of Germany, this site comprises the remains of a significant medieval abbey and its associated monastery complex. Founded in the 8th century, the abbey played an important role in the religious and cultural life of the Frankish Empire and subsequent medieval periods. The site is characterized by the ruins of its stone buildings and architectural elements that reflect Carolingian and Romanesque construction methods.
