Located in the historic centre of Poreč on the Istrian Peninsula in Croatia, this ensemble comprises the Euphrasian Basilica and its associated episcopal complex. The basilica, originally constructed in the 6th century during the Byzantine period, represents a significant example of early Christian architecture and decorative tradition. The complex includes the basilica itself, an episcopal palace, a baptistery, and a bell tower, forming an integrated religious and administrative centre that reflects the importance of Poreč as an early Christian settlement. The site is distinguished by its well-preserved mosaics, marble decorations, and architectural elements that demonstrate the sophisticated artistic techniques of the Early Byzantine period. The ensemble's survival and relatively intact state make it an exceptional testimony to religious and urban organisation in the Mediterranean during late antiquity and the early medieval period.
