Rousson · Gard · Occitanie

Prehistorama is a museum dedicated to the history of life on Earth, from the first cells to Homo sapiens. Located in Rousson in the Gard, it presents a collection of over 1,500 pieces including authentic fossils and casts, organized in a gallery of 78 display cases including approximately 40 dioramas recreating scenes of prehistoric life. The life-sized human and animal figures presented were sculpted and naturalized according to a scientific method by Eirik Granqvist, prehistorian, sculptor and taxidermist. The museum covers all prehistoric periods, from the primate Purgatorius to the Metal Age.
