The Vivant Denon Living Museum is a Chalon institution. Its collections encompass several fields: archaeology, covering prehistory, the classical period, antiquity in Chalon and the Middle Ages; painting and sculpture from the 16th to the 20th century; as well as graphic arts, notably the graphic art collection and Chalon engravings on wood. The museum also preserves the Dominique-Vivant Denon collection, as well as collections of ethnology and Burgundian furniture, to which are added extra-European works. Located in Chalon-sur-Saône, in Saône-et-Loire, the museum offers guided tours, workshops and temporary exhibitions that complement its permanent collections.
