Musée Quentovic

Etaples-sur-mer · Pas-de-Calais · Hauts-de-France

The Quentovic Museum is located in Étaples-sur-Mer in two former 17th-century private mansions situated on Place du Général de Gaulle. The museum takes its name from the ancient society of Quentovic and was established from associative collections enriched by archaeological excavations. Its collections present archaeological remains illustrating the ancient history of the strait and maritime transport in prehistoric Europe, as well as a collection of minerals and fossils from the region and elsewhere. The facades of the buildings retain masonry keystones bearing the initials of former owners, testifying to the local architectural history.
