The Opale Sud museum, established in Berck-sur-Mer in the Pas-de-Calais, is listed as a historic monument. Located in the former gendarmerie, it brings together archaeological collections, fine arts, and modern and contemporary artworks, with particular emphasis on the Berck school and its artistic heritage. The museum explores local history and culture through several themes: archaeology, the urban and seaside development of Berck-Plage, the life of fishermen, and maritime and craft traditions. It regularly offers temporary exhibitions devoted to both contemporary art and Berck's heritage, as well as heritage trails and educational activities suited to families and school groups. The collections notably include funds related to artists associated with Berck and coastal maritime life.
