The National Museum of Education (MUNAÉ) is an institution specializing in the history of education, founded in 1879 in Rouen in Normandy. Labeled as a "Museum of France" since 2002, it holds one of the most important European collections of educational heritage, comprised of more than 950,000 objects and documents. Its collections include notably approximately 400,000 photographic negatives, 12,000 paintings and prints of popular imagery, as well as 9,000 pieces of school equipment and furniture. The museum has two locations in Rouen: an exhibition center at the Maison des Quatre Fils Aymon and a resource center. Its activities are organized around a permanent collection complemented by temporary exhibitions exploring the historical, social and cultural dimensions of education.
