The Municipal Ivory Museum is located in Yvetot in Seine-Maritime, in Normandy, within the tourism office building. It houses a collection of approximately two hundred ivory pieces, originating essentially from a donation by Louis Féron in 1929, supplemented by ceramics, paintings, and the Rétimare treasure discovered in 1968. The museum is currently undergoing major rehabilitation combining inventory, restoration, and bringing it up to standards, with a reopening planned for the first half of 2025. On this occasion, it will offer new scenography organized around three axes — Figure, Landscape, and Use — providing a renewed tour of its collections. A more ambitious project envisages by 2028 the association of the museum with the Duchamp gallery, a contemporary art center.
