The Maison de l'Araire is a local history museum located in Yzeron, in the Rhône department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Founded in 1983 in a former girls' school, it is managed by the association L'Araire, dedicated to research and the promotion of heritage, archaeology, folklore and the history of the Lyonnais countryside. The museum offers permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as themed activities and demonstrations of traditional crafts related to local heritage and regional traditions. The association also publishes a research journal, specialized works particularly on architecture and Roman aqueducts, as well as films and photo albums dedicated to Lyonnais heritage. The museum regularly organizes lectures, screenings, guided tours and traveling exhibitions aimed at promoting the history and heritage of the region.
