The Museum of Leather and Tanning in Château-Renault, located in Indre-et-Loire, is dedicated to the history and techniques of leather transformation. Housed in the former Tenneson tannery, dating from the 16th century, the museum presents the different stages of leather manufacturing according to traditional methods. Through its collections, the museum traces the complex journey of skin until the obtainment of finished leather. The historic building in which the museum is located is itself a testament to local craft activity. This museum offers visitors an immersion in heritage craftsmanship strongly linked to the economic and industrial history of the region.
