The Museum of French Firefighters, located in Montville in Seine-Maritime, was created in 1993 at the initiative of André Martin, former mayor of the municipality. It is the result of a lasting partnership between the local authority and the Association of Friends of the Museum, which owns the collections. The building, designed by architects Dufresne and Pittaras and located in the town center, houses vehicles, equipment, engravings, period documents, helmets and uniforms that document the work of firefighters since the eighteenth century. The museum offers free audio guides for individual visitors, guided tours by reservation, as well as educational workshops for children. The establishment has a souvenir shop and implements facilities for welcoming people with disabilities.
