The Regional Prehistory Museum, located in Saint-Pons-de-Thomières in Hérault, is dedicated to the prehistory of Languedoc. Its collections present Neolithic artifacts discovered at regional sites, notably the Camprafaud cave in the Bois des Albières and the Resplandy cave. The museum displays pieces characteristic of the Early Neolithic around 4500 years before our era, as well as Saintponien artifacts dating from 3500 to 2300 before our era. Its museographic design includes a main exhibition room with display cases, a staging of nine statue-menhirs in a woodland setting with evolving lighting effects, and video projections illustrating daily life and hunting practices in the Neolithic. It is part of the historical heritage of the rural Hérault territory.
