Musée
Fresnay-sur-Sarthe · Sarthe · Pays-de-la-Loire

The Museum of Headdresses, located in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe in Sarthe, is dedicated to traditional headdresses formerly worn by women in the region. The collection features a wide selection of Sarthe headdresses mounted on hat blocks, including three successive types since 1800: the bonnette, the bise-moi vite and the galette. These pieces bear witness to a bygone era and society. The museum benefits from the support of the volunteer association "La Bise-moi vite", whose seamstresses ensure the restoration and conservation of the pieces, while educating visitors about the techniques used. Located in the Cofea Cultural Space, it is open according to a seasonal calendar, from late March to late August.
