The Comic Strip Museum is one of the two main components of the International Center for Comics and Images, a public institution located in Angoulême in Charente. It is dedicated to the preservation, study and presentation of the heritage and contemporary creation of the ninth art. Its collections explore the history of comics, its authors and their aesthetic and editorial developments, complemented by temporary exhibitions and acquisitions of original works. The site also offers additional services: a heritage library, an art house cinema, a bookstore, as well as workshops and guided tours for all audiences. It hosts author residencies and events, including the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
