Musée De L' Agriculture Auvergnate

Coltines · Cantal · Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Museum of Auvergnat Agriculture, located in Coltines in the Cantal, occupies the building of the Ostal de la Marissou. Created at the initiative of Joseph Boudou, former mayor of the commune, it brings together objects donated by their owners to bear witness to Auvergnat agricultural life. The museum offers original museography, designed by museographer Michel Castillo, organized over two floors where visitors progressively discover farm and field activities throughout the seasons. The collections allow children to playfully learn about the history of their ancestors as well as older visitors to revisit the region's agricultural past. The establishment is recognized by several tourist guides and benefits from the support of facilitators to enrich the visit.
