The Fontenay-le-Comte museum, founded in 1875 from the bequest of Eugène de Mouillebert, a collector and scholar from the town, is. Its permanent collections cover several fields: Antiquity, art and popular traditions, furniture, ornithology, as well as fine arts. The museum also offers a section dedicated to the local Renaissance and an urban scale model. Established in Fontenay-le-Comte in Vendée, it welcomes the public through free and guided visits, and regularly offers temporary exhibitions, educational activities for families and activities for school and adult groups.
