The Museum of Contemporary Art in Marseille ([mac]) stems from the modern and contemporary art collection of the Cantini Museum. Its collections, comprising approximately one thousand works, are organized around the New Realists, Narrative Figuration, Arte Povera, American conceptual and performative art, Fluxus and Support Surfaces, with contemporary development toward installation, digital creation and video. The museum, located in Marseille in Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, offers collection exhibitions designed with a perspective of openness to contemporary concerns, complemented by temporary exhibitions. Its garden hosts sculptures by modern and contemporary artists. Labeled "" since 2003, it makes its collections available online through the Navigart and Videomuseum networks.
