The Notre-Dame de la Garde Museum, located in the Marseille basilica, occupies more than 350 m² and traces eight centuries of history of this emblematic sanctuary. Its collections include ex-votos, paintings, engravings, sculptures, models, sacred goldwork and liturgical ornaments, presented according to four themes: pilgrimage through the centuries, the origins of the sanctuary, its reconstruction in the 19th century and temporary exhibitions. The tour is enriched with videos and photographic documents. A discovery workshop, designed for children and people with disabilities, offers interactive and tactile devices allowing an alternative approach to the history and heritage of the site. Two thematic temporary exhibitions are organized annually, offering a renewed presentation of the richness of the collections.
