The Claude-Nicolas Ledoux Museum, located in Arc-et-Senans in the Doubs, is the only museum in Europe dedicated to an architect. It presents the work of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, designer of the Royal Saltworks, through approximately sixty scale models tracing his life and achievements. The exhibition displays both constructed buildings and unbuilt or lost projects, revealing a varied architectural practice: theaters, private mansions, toll buildings, as well as visionary projects such as the ideal city of Chaux, cemeteries and industrial buildings. A multilingual touchscreen, the Museum of Architecture of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, offers three exploration routes including digitized plates from his architectural treatise and 3D models of his dreamed monuments. This museum provides an overview of the multidimensional work of an architect, philosopher and writer of the 18th-19th centuries.
