The Cévenol Museum, inaugurated in 1963, occupies 1,500 m² in Le Vigan, in the Gard department. It brings together collections spanning from prehistory to the present day, documenting the territory of the Causses and the southern Cévennes. The three levels of the museum present permanent collections organized around three themes: ethnology and traditions, textiles (wool, silk, nylon; weaving, knitting, embroidery) and arts and literature. These collections illustrate the region's agricultural and industrial past, as well as former craft activities. The museum also offers temporary exhibitions and activities designed for groups and school classes.
