The Agathois Jules Baudou Museum, founded in 1935 by the Escolo Dai Sarret, is located in the heart of Agde's historic center in a 17th-century Renaissance mansion. It presents the arts and traditions of the city, with particular emphasis on daily life and maritime and wine-growing activities that marked its development. The museum spans three levels and twenty-seven rooms renovated in 2011-2012, exploring Agde's history from its volcanic origins to its modern period, notably its importance as a Mediterranean commercial port. The collections include ship models, reconstructions of domestic life, traditional costumes and testimonies of local culture, including the famous Belle Agathoise costume with its characteristic lace and headdresses. The museum also has a fine arts gallery with paintings of landscapes and portraits.
