The museum of the history of Perche occupies the second floor of the Renaissance main building of the Castle of the Counts of Perche, in Nogent-le-Rotrou in Eure-et-Loire. It traces the history of the castle, the city and the Perche region from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution, in particular that of the noble families who shaped the territory, including the Rotrou, counts of Perche. A second space is dedicated to artists from Nogent-le-Rotrou and Perche who contributed to the cultural influence of the region. The castle itself, whose origins date back to the 10th century with its rectangular keep reinforced by seven towers, constitutes a historic monument listed since 1950 as the property of the town. The museum offers an augmented visit via headset or tablet, as well as interactive tours designed for children.
