The Museum of African, Oceanian and Amerindian Arts (MAAOA) is located at the Centre de la Vieille Charité in Marseille. It offers an important collection of extra-European art objects, cultural testimonies and artworks in their own right. Its collections cover the arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas, as illustrated by its major pieces: masks, statues, pendants and ritual objects from various cultures. Marseille remains, after Paris and the Musée du Quai Branly, one of the few cities in France to host a museum exclusively dedicated to extra-European collections. The museum offers free permanent exhibitions, complemented by a program of temporary exhibitions, guided tours and educational activities.
