The Dr Mérieux Museum of Biological Sciences, located in Marcy-l'Étoile in the Rhône, is an institution dedicated to the history of biology and the fight against infectious diseases. It traces the action of the Mérieux family in the field of public health over four generations, starting from this village in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The permanent exhibition guides visitors through the centuries and continents to discover the history of microbes and scientific advances that made it possible to combat them. The museum also offers temporary exhibitions and activities suited to school groups and families, placing an understanding of the microscopic world at the heart of its educational approach.
