Located in the heart of the village of Zonza in Alta Rocca, the Museum of Corsican Resistance is the only heritage institution on the island dedicated to the history of Corsica during the Second World War. It traces the path of island resistance, from its first acts in 1940 to the liberation battles in 1943, paying tribute to the women and men who fought for freedom, with particular emphasis on the patriots of Alta Rocca. The museum's collections bring together witnesses to the past, including historical documents, military equipment, and objects that belonged to resistance fighters. The permanent exhibition is structured around four themes: the threatened island, Corsica under the Marshal, Italian occupation, and resistance to liberation. The museum also offers educational mediation workshops and is part of a network of municipalities aimed at promoting memorial sites and preserving the collective memory of this period.
