Musée de Borda
Dax · Landes · Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Borda Museum was founded in 1807 in Dax through the acquisition of Jacques-François Borda d'Oro's natural history collection. Located in the Carmelite chapel, a building dating from 1523, it houses collections of archaeology, science and natural history, fine arts and graphic arts, as well as ethnography, enriched regularly over more than two centuries. The museum offers temporary exhibitions throughout the year devoted to historical, scientific or artistic subjects. It also manages an ancient site located on Rue Cazade, which preserves the remains of a Gallo-Roman civic basilica from the early centuries of our era.
