Musée Bargoin

Clermont-Ferrand · Puy-de-Dôme · Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Bargoin Museum is housed in a neoclassical building inaugurated in 1903 in the heart of Clermont-Ferrand. It preserves archaeological collections mainly from the Clermont basin and Puy-de-Dôme, as well as extra-European textile collections. Starting in 2025, the museum is undertaking major work on its collections in preparation for a move to a new metropolitan conservation center. Following this work phase, the Bargoin Museum will be entirely dedicated to the archaeology and history of the territory, while the textile collections will join the Roger-Quilliot Art Museum.
