The Conservatoire du Machinisme Agricole de Velesmes is a museum dedicated to the preservation of the agricultural and rural heritage of Haute-Saône. Opened in June 2005 in the village of Velesmes, it was built up over forty years of collecting by Pierre Rougeol, a local figure who gathered agricultural machines, tractors and vehicles of all kinds that were used in the countryside. Housed in a building of over 1,300 m², the museum displays approximately sixty tractors as well as a diversity of historical agricultural equipment including plows, hay tedders, reapers and threshers, complemented by automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles and a few military vehicles. This collection illustrates rural life from the early twentieth century and testifies to a desire to preserve these material witnesses of the region's agricultural activity from destruction.
