Located in northwestern Iran, this archaeological site occupies a dramatic hilltop setting in the Zagros Mountains region. Takht-e Sulaiman represents an important center of religious and political significance that developed over multiple periods, from the Achaemenid Empire through the Sassanid period and into the Islamic era. The site features the remains of a fortified complex with a distinctive layout centered around a natural mountain spring, which held sacred significance in the region's religious traditions. Architectural elements visible at the site include stone foundations, walls, and structures that reflect the various phases of occupation and construction spanning centuries. The layered archaeological deposits provide evidence of the site's role in the religious and administrative networks of successive Persian empires, making it valuable for understanding the history of the region.
