Located in Bavaria along the Danube River, this site encompasses the historic old town of Regensburg and the district of Stadtamhof across the river. The medieval urban ensemble preserves an exceptional concentration of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, including patrician houses, churches, and civic buildings that reflect the city's development as an important trading center and seat of the Prince-Bishop. The Stone Bridge, completed in the 12th century, remains a notable medieval structure connecting the two districts and has served as a crucial crossing point for centuries.
