This Vietnamese citadel represents a significant example of Southeast Asian military architecture from the feudal period. Located in northern Vietnam, the site reflects the political and defensive strategies of the Hô dynasty, which ruled during the 15th century. The citadel demonstrates the integration of traditional Vietnamese defensive systems with contemporary architectural practices, featuring fortified walls and strategic spatial planning characteristic of the era. The complex layout and construction methods provide important evidence of Vietnamese administrative and military organization during this historical period. The site remains an important archaeological and architectural testament to Vietnam's medieval dynastic structures and their material expression in the landscape.
