Located in the Sulu Sea approximately 150 kilometres southeast of Puerto Princesa in Palawan, this natural park encompasses one of the Philippines' most significant marine ecosystems. The site comprises two atolls separated by a deep-water channel, featuring pristine coral reef formations that support exceptional biodiversity. The marine environment is characterized by hard and soft coral communities, numerous fish species, sea turtles, and other marine fauna dependent on healthy reef structures. The park's ecological value derives from the integrity of its coral ecosystems and their role as critical habitat for numerous species of regional and global significance. The site represents an important example of undisturbed atoll reef systems in Southeast Asia, with particular scientific and conservation importance for understanding tropical marine biodiversity.
