Located on the southeastern coast of Cuba in Granma Province, this natural site encompasses a coastal landscape shaped by limestone formations and marine processes. The park protects an outstanding example of a young, still-evolving coral reef system and associated marine and terrestrial ecosystems. The area is characterized by dramatic cliffs, coastal caves, and a transition zone between sea and land that supports diverse flora and fauna adapted to these particular environmental conditions. The geological and biological features of the site, combined with its relatively undisturbed state, justify its recognition as a natural heritage property of international significance. The park's landscape reflects the dynamic interactions between geological uplift, coastal erosion, and biological colonization that continue to shape the region. This protected area serves as an important refuge for endemic species and represents a valuable example of Caribbean coastal biodiversity.
