This cultural ensemble in Córdoba, Argentina, comprises a complex of Jesuit buildings and rural estates that represent a significant chapter in colonial history. The site includes the Jesuit Block (Manzana Jesuítica) in the city centre, featuring the Society of Jesus church, residence, and educational facilities, alongside five estancias—fortified rural properties—distributed across the surrounding countryside. Together, these structures document the economic, religious, and social organization of the Society of Jesus during the colonial and early post-colonial periods in South America. The architectural style reflects the adaptation of European design principles to local materials and building traditions, with structures characterized by robust stone construction and functional design suited to their dual purpose of religious and productive use. The estancias, which served as agricultural and livestock centers, provide evidence of the Jesuits' role in establishing farming practices and infrastructure in the region. This ensemble constitutes an exceptional testimony to the historical influence of the Jesuits in Argentina and their contribution to the development of colonial society.
