Trévoux · Ain · Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Trévoux and its Treasures Museum is housed in the Hôtel Pierre et Anne de Bourbon, a 15th-century Trévoux residence, and traces the history of the Principality of Dombes, of which Trévoux was the capital. The museum brings together collections relating to local historical crafts and techniques: minting, goldsmithing, metal refining, diamond wire work and spinning, complemented by manuscripts and printed works including the famous Memoirs and Dictionary of Trévoux. The collections, displayed over two levels, also include archaeological discoveries such as the statue of Saint John the Evangelist and fragments of murals. The museum offers a theatrical tour entitled "All That Glitters Through the Centuries" and favors a sensory approach combining scents and touch to the discovery of objects.
