The Ampère Museum is an establishment dedicated to the life and work of scholar André-Marie Ampère, born in Lyon in 1775, who spent his childhood and adolescence in Poleymieux-au-Mont-d'Or. The museum is organized around two spaces: Ampère's House, which evokes the physicist's life and presents his scientific legacy, and the Museum of Electricity and Energies, which traces the scientific and industrial development of electricity through interactive experiments and functional machines. The site offers educational workshops based on experimentation for school groups and families. Labeled "Maisons des Illustres" by the Ministry of Culture, the site also benefits from international recognition, notably the "EPS Historic Sites" and "IEEE Historic Milestone" labels celebrating Ampère's discoveries in electrodynamics and magnetism. Located in Poleymieux-au-Mont-d'Or in the Rhône, the museum is managed by the Society of Friends of André-Marie Ampère, founded in 1930.
