The Montacutain Rural Museum, located in Montaigu-le-Blin in Allier, is a local history museum dedicated to rural life in the 19th and 20th centuries. Housed on the first floor of the town hall, the museum presents in three rooms a collection of antique objects and furniture illustrating agricultural and craft techniques, as well as the daily and family living conditions of the past. Among the themes covered are the manufacture of clogs and the shoeing of horses. The visit, guided by passionate volunteers, allows visitors to explore aspects of private, social and professional life from the early 20th century. The museum is open free of charge on Sundays and public holidays during the summer season, and by reservation for the rest of the year.
