Created in 1960, the Renoir Museum occupies the last residence of painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919), located on the Collettes hill in Cagnes-sur-Mer in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Built in 1908 in neo-Provençal style, the estate preserves the painter's living atmosphere, documented by a dozen original paintings, furniture, personal objects, old photographs, and sculptures created in collaboration with sculptor Richard Guino. The collections also testify to Renoir's artistic career and his final years marked by illness, which he sought to manage by settling in the south. The site is surrounded by a remarkable Mediterranean garden planted with centuries-old olive trees, orange trees, and fig trees, open to visitors. Renovated in the early 2010s, the museum has benefited from the Quality Tourism mark since 2016.
