The Fernand Léger national museum, located in Biot in the Alpes-Maritimes, has been a state institution in France since 2002. The building is distinguished by its remarkable contemporary architecture, notably its west façade decorated with a mosaic currently undergoing restoration. The museum houses a collection organized around eleven key periods in the artist's career. It offers the public permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as an educational and mediation program intended for families, school groups, and people with disabilities. The site also includes an accessible garden, a bookstore-shop, and spaces dedicated to documentation and research.
