The Weaving and Silk Museum, located in Bussières in Loire, is dedicated to the preservation and transmission of the region's textile heritage. Founded in 1977 at the initiative of local weavers and Pierre Berchoux, it documents a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, initially focused on linen and hemp, then oriented towards silk production from the 1830s onwards. The museum offers guided tours featuring weaving demonstrations on historical looms from the 19th century to contemporary times, all in working order. The region continues to produce high-end silk, voile fabrics, and furnishing textiles, whose craftsmanship is at the heart of the visit. The museum welcomes visitors from April to October on weekends, and daily in July-August (except Mondays), by reservation only.
