The museum houses more than 2,500 high-quality mineralogical samples, representing over 260 species, including many French and regional specimens, supplemented by approximately 150 related objects such as postcards, scale models and displays. Located at the western entrance of the medieval town of Crémieu, near Lyon, Vienne and Grenoble, the museum benefits from a remarkable architectural setting. The presence of the mineral collector and researcher who founded it contributes to its scientific and educational dimension.
