The Museum of Hortillonnages is located in Rivery, in the immediate vicinity of Amiens, in the Hauts-de-France region. It is dedicated to the heritage, traditional trades, tools, fauna and flora of the hortillonnages, an ancient market garden marshland shaped by humans for centuries. The museum offers exhibition spaces and cultivated gardens, complemented by commented boat tours in electric boats allowing visitors to explore the characteristic canals and gardens of the site. Operating from April 1st to October 31st, it is managed by passionate volunteers, with René and Thérèse embodying the living memory of this heritage. The site also welcomes school groups for activities introducing them to the environment and Picardy culture.
