The Mucem is a museum of civilizations dedicated to the cultures of Europe and the Mediterranean. Located in Marseille, it succeeds the Ethnography Museum of the Trocadéro and the National Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions. Since its opening in 2005, it has directed its collection development policy toward ethnographic collections from these geographical areas. The museum occupies three locations: the J4, Fort Saint-Jean, and the Conservation and Resources Center. A single ticket provides access to permanent and temporary exhibitions at the first two sites, while outdoor spaces remain freely accessible.
