The Museum of Fine Arts in Marseille is one of the fifteen first museums created in France by the Consulate in 1801. Located since 1869 in the left wing of the Longchamp Palace, it presents collections covering the period from the 16th to the 19th century. The museum offers free access to its permanent collections, as well as free access to temporary exhibitions on the first day of their opening and every first Sunday of the month. Located in Marseille in Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, it is part of the network of fifteen municipal museums in the city. Labeled since 2002, it complements Marseille's cultural offering alongside institutions dedicated to history, archaeology, and decorative arts.
