Musée
Aubière · Puy-de-Dôme · Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
The Museum of Vine and Wine is located in Aubière, in Puy-de-Dôme, in cellars dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, formerly called "Cave à Madame". The museum documents the wine-growing history of Lower Auvergne, particularly the skills and objects characteristic of the late 19th century to the mid-20th century. Its collections include viticulture and winemaking tools, a reconstructed cooperage workshop, as well as an audiovisual exhibition recounting the vegetative cycle of the vine and the stages of winemaking. The site also offers an open-air vineyard variety conservatory, presenting historical and local varieties. Visits, lasting approximately one hour, conclude with a tasting of wines from the Côtes d'Auvergne. It also benefits from the "Vineyards and Discovery" label.
