The Joseph Lhomenède Museum of Resistance and Deportation is located in Frugières-le-Pin, in Haute-Loire, a region of major historical significance in French resistance. Installed in the former train station building, it houses an important collection of period documents, posters, photographs, newspapers, as well as French, English, American, Russian and German military equipment from the Second World War. The museum notably preserves FFI uniforms, weapons, objects from the Dachau concentration camp, and historical flags. Outside, a considerable collection of war vehicles is displayed: trucks, ambulances, armored vehicles, tanks and deportation wagons. The museum pays tribute to Joseph Lhomenède, a resistance fighter and local political figure, founder of this memorial institution.
