The Belleau Memory Museum 1914-1918 is located in the heart of the village of Belleau, in the Aisne department, in the Hauts-de-France region. It is dedicated to the fighting in Belleau Wood in June 1918, which represents a major turning point in the Great War: this engagement marked the first engagement and first victory of the American Marine Corps. The museum's collections document the clashes between German and American soldiers, enriched by thematic temporary exhibitions relating to the First World War. The site is part of a memorial complex that includes military cemeteries and local commemorative monuments, accessible through guided tours of the sector. The museum also offers a gift shop and hosts periodic events.
