Musée d'histoire naturelle
Le Mans · Sarthe · Pays-de-la-Loire

The House of Water, main component of the Ark of Nature in Le Mans, is a natural history museum integrated into a 500-hectare complex dedicated to nature and local heritage. Its appeal lies notably in the presence of a historic micro-hydroelectric power station and scientific facilities such as an aquarium room and a steam room, testifying to the region's technical heritage. The site offers diverse activities: free visits, themed school programs focused on water, bicycle and canoe rentals, as well as guided tours. The Ark of Nature also includes two other themed houses, the House of the Prairie and the House of the Forest, forming a coherent educational space dedicated to ecosystems and the management of natural heritage in the Pays-de-la-Loire region.
